      During my last visit home I cut a watermelon with a butter knife because my brother is bipolar. He pulled a knife once on my parents so we don’t keep them in the house anymore. He is stable now, but the reality of his illness will never fade. We will always cut our watermelons with butter knives. My brother and family have not lacked Christian support since his disease.   More than ever before, we are living in a world that is being transformed and disrupted. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is here and while people across the planet enthusiastically embrace the new convergence between the physical, digital and biological worlds, there is also uncertainty and apprehension. I initially wanted to read this during my sabbatical - which is a sort of a planned isolation as the book suggests, but ended up reading it in a sitting (the book only has 76 pages).

It is very inspiring and refreshing. I suggest that the book be read after reading The Making of A Leader by J.R. Clinton from which the concept is derived/5(17). Great Post. I just got done reading Nouwen’s great little book “In The Name of Jesus: Reflections on Christian Leadership.” This book deals largely with loneliness and isolation.

My problem in reaching out has consistently been on the other end. This book provides a comprehensive overview of the most commonly used leadership styles in business.

The initial chapter begins by looking at leadership in general terms in order to establish a starting point on which to build upon. The chapters that follow go on to explore eight different leadership styles in isolation/5(5). One problem is a sense of isolation. A Harvard Business Review post noted that over half of CEOs feel a sense of loneliness, and 61 percent believe it hinders their performance.
